There are many ways to change the course you play every day.  Once a week play from a totally different color tee box.  Is does not matter what color you choose.  Another day, mix all the tee markers up.  Hole #1 play from the red, #2 white, #3 blue, start over and do it for every hole.  This makes it more fun each time you play because as you play from different tee boxes, it changes where you are coming into the green from.  You are challenged by the different yardages and where your ball is hit to.  There is never a wrong way to play, just make sure you are playing with the appropriate tee box.  I still would not go to a regulation golf course and play from the back tees if I feel my ability would ruin the experience.
